I’m actually “asking for a friend.“ You see, most listeners want to know well before listening to a song how the lyrics and music they’re about to hear will affect their emotions. In other words, what’s the vibe?

Well, I can tell you the opening musical impression is hip, yet chill, with that whole smokey lounge cool jazz trio groove. Then, as the song builds, the sound swells begin to crescendo into a full-blown hot wall of sound with plenty of va-va-voom drive.

I’m proud to say that “Vim in the Vibe” is unique to any of my other original songs. It’s a bit disconcerting to leave one’s comfort zone, to be honest, but it’s so worth it.

“Vim“ was inspired by a seven-note jazz guitar riff that piqued my interest. Sprinkle in a few unfamiliar chord progressions and one quirky refrain, and now you’ll understand the secret sauce to “Vim In The Vibe.”

So, let’s get back to this whole vibe concern.

A more intriguing question than “What’s the Vibe?” might be, “What’s YOUR Vibe?” More to the point, are you open to experiencing new, unique, blended musical genres with diverse alternative sounds? Or are you good with sticking to what you know and like? Of course, there is no correct answer, and honestly, as long as music or any other art form stirs an emotion within you, that’s all any artist can hope for.

Always remember, it’s you who puts the “Vim in the Vibe.”
